In a first big push toward an ambitious state goal to procure 9,000 MW of offshore wind power by 2035, New York on July 18 awarded a total of 1,700 MW, split between Norwegian developer Equinor and a joint venture of Danish wind giant 0rsted and Connecticut utility Eversource Energy.
