Construction is a relationship business, often pairing general contractors with trusted subcontractors for multiple projects. To help minimize time spent renegotiating core terms and conditions of an agreement when hiring the same subcontractor to work on different projects for different owners, The American Institute of Architects (AIA) is releasing a new contract in its suite of Master Agreements this fall: the A421-2018 Contractor/Subcontractor Master Agreement where Work is provided under multiple Work Orders. The A421 contains common contract terms and conditions such as dispute resolution, insurance and payments that will apply to each work order.
