San Francisco Transit Center Contractor Seeks $150 Million

The Webcor/Obayashi Joint Venture, general contractor for the Sales-force Transit Center in San Francisco, filed a complaint alleging breach of contract against the hub's owner, the Transbay Joint Powers Authority. The lawsuit seeks more than $150 million in extras on WO's $994,517,600 contract. It cites TJPA's inability "to fulfill its key contractual duties, including making the critical decisions to keep the project on time and on budget." In an Oct. 17 statement responding to the suit-filed Oct. 16 in the Superior Court of the State of California-TJPA said it will hold WO "responsible for their contractual commitment to deliver this project to the people of the Bay Area and the state of California."
