摘要

Power quality is a very important topic for both consumer and electricity producer. The world wide increasing applications of nonlinear loads, mostly consisting of power electronics devices, have become the power quality problems a vital issue than ever before.This paper deals with the measurement, analysis and evaluation of the power quality parameters in a standard medium-voltage (MV) distribution network before and after reactive power compensation system. Firstly, power quality parameters such as voltage, current, active, reactive and appearent power, power factor and harmonics are measured from the power plant before ractive power compensation. Secondly, all these parameters are measured once again after compensation. The values obtained in both measurements have been analyzed and evaluated taking into consideration IEEE 519-1992 standards.
