Oeb Considers Changes For Transmission Connections

Based upon comments received during its Transmission Connection Cost Responsibility Review (TCCRR) consultation, the Ontario Energy Board (OEB) believes its existing policies generally do not present an obstacle to connecting new renewable generation facilities to the provincial grid.rnAs noted in a discussion paper the OEB produced on the issue, "significant generator connection activity has occurred under the existing policy framework, including the connection of renewable generation facilities."rnThe OEB said its existing connections policies have been successful at connecting renewable generation even when located some distance from the grid.rnBut, the OEB pointed out these connection cases have involved single proponent projects in areas less remote than those proposed in the Integrated Power System Plan (IPSP) proposed by the Ontario Power Authority.
