Quick View: Progress Made On Russia 5G But Development Still Slow

The Latest: Russia’s competition watchdog, the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS), has approved a cooperationagreement for the construction of mobile 5G networks. Leading operators Rostelecom, VEON and MegaFon initiated apetition to the FAS requesting the creation of a joint 5G network. The Ministry Communications and Mass Media (MoC) hasoutlined a plan for a single infrastructure network shared by the operators. Operators are yet to agree to the preconditions set outby the FAS, which require all participants to have equal access to spectrum banding.
