IT companies wax lyrical over the potential for organisations and nindividuals to beneft from cloud computing. There are certainly nmany benefts, the principal is access to content from any internet nconnection and lower costs – an important factor for organisations nin today’s troubled fnancial climate. However, there are still many nissues to be overcome, including legal jurisdiction over the data, ndepending on where it is stored. BMI believes this will take time nto resolve and may have a detrimental effect on take-up of cloud nproducts.
