Spectrum Auction Relaunch Hopes To Lure Fourth Operator

The Czech Telecommunications Office (CTU) re-launched its auctionnof spectrum in the key 800MHz, 1,800MHz and 2,600MHznbands in mid-August 2013. The regulator has attached conditions tonthe renewed spectrum auction in order to ensure that a new playerngains entry into the Czech mobile market. Although T-Mobile,nVodafone and Telefonica O2 have strongly criticised the CTU'sndecision, BMI backs the CTU's argument that a fourth mobile operatornwill provide the Czech market with much needed competition.
