Permissions and privileges

A Linux system always has a user called 'root'. This user has the highest level of privileges on the system: other users typically only have ordinary privilege levels. Full access to system files, devices and so on requires 'root privileges'. One approach is simply to execute all commands as the user 'root' but this is not advisable.
