Modelling of dry-band arcs on ADSS cable sheath - signal acquisition, processing and analysis

摘要

Installation of all-dielectric self-supported fibre-optic cables (ADSS) on overhead transmission lines (OHTL) leads to improvement of communication and wideband data transfer services in electrical power networks. Problems with ADSS cables result fmm reported cases of degradation and damage of the outer coatings of cables exposed to many electrical, mechanical, and chemical stresses during operating conditions. The paper presents investigations of discharge mechanisms and dry-band arcs on a cable surface, causing erosion processes. Application of digital signal processing (DSP) methods used for analysis of the low- and high-frequency components of surface current and dry-band arcing are presented. The analysis of results is based on experimental data obtained from modelling of dry-band arcs and measurements carried out on ADSS cables in laboratory conditions.
