Length requirements for power splitters in optical communication systems

摘要

Analytical formulas for the required length of optical power splitters based on multimode interference and cascading of waveguide branches are derived and used to evaluate the length reduction obtained by using a 1*N multimode interference splitter as compared to a branching-type splitter.
