Linewidth broadening of Er-doped superfluorescent fibre source using long-period grating

It is demonstrated that, by using a long period grating, a double-pass backward superfluorescent fibre source obtains a broader linewidth over a large pump region while still maintaining a comparable output power compared to that without the grating.
