Audio ICs for handheld devices

The evolution of multimedia capability in handheld devices has raised the requirements for sound reproduction quality in combination with small size and low power consumption. Pocket PCs, PDAs, mobile phones, and a wealth of other devices now or will soon make use of high-quality audio for voice prompts, advanced ring tones, speakerphones, and MP3 playback. A new generation of audio driver ICs is being developed to meet the demand.
