One of the outstanding products chosen as this year's Product of the Year winner was the Microchip Technology (Chandler, AZ ) PIC24F and PIC24H 16-bit microcontrollers (see Electronic Products, November 2005, p. 88). Microchip's first 16-bit general-purpose controllers provide a cost-effective step up in performance and memory size over their 8-bit devices.
