Choosing a Class-D stereo amplifier

Selecting the right components for an electronic design is a complex, often iterative experience involving tradeoffs across many levels. One such component is a Class-D audio amplifier. The process of choosing this type of amplifier is illustrated below through a hypothetical application—that being a cell phone or personal media player (PMP) docking station powered from either a wall cube or alkaline batteries.
