The 32-bit TMS320F2802x/F2803x MCUs are said to bring processor-intensive, real-time control to cost-sensitive applications. The low-cost Piccolo series MCUs feature 40- or 60-MHz operation with a high-resolution PWM and a fast 13- or 16-channel 4.6-Msample/s A/D converter. They also feature a programmable floating-point control law accelerator (CLA) to offload complex, high-speed control algorithms from the CPU - resulting in up to a fivefold performance jump for common closed-loop applications. They have an enhanced capture/compare input, accurate 10-MHz oscillators, up to 128 Kbytes of flash, a 128-bit security key/lock, and 38 to 80-pin packages. The devices have LIN 2.0, CAN, SPI, SCI, and PC interfaces.
