Autotestcon to tackle tough test issues

Whereas technical conferences often serve only as showcases for the latest products developments, Autotestcon, held from September 8 through 11 in Salt Lake City, UT,~* will try to couple that aspect of shows with a serious attempt to solve some of the persistent challenges that test engineers, particularly those working on military systems, have faced for many years. Larry Kirkland, an engineer at WesTest Engineering and the technical program chairman, notes that the theme of this year's show is "Surpassing the Limits - Forging Ahead." He points out with diagnostics, such things as wrong failure callouts and non-duplicate causes of errors have been consistent problems. Solving these problems has been hampered by basically only using a stimulus response approach to testing.
