Tiny 1-A, 4-MHz step-down converter aims at portable apps

One of the industry's mallest 4-MHz synchronous step-down dc/dc converters, the LM3691 provides up to a 1-A output current over a 2.3 to 5.5-V input voltage range. Optimized for powering high-performance processors from a single Li-ion cell battery in mobile phones, personal media players and other mobile devices, the converter features peak efficiency of 95%, low quiescent current, and output voltage precision of ±1% for powering baseband and applications processors.
