Stretchable Electronics Allow Extreme Bending, Straining

摘要

A research team consisting of a professor from the University of Miami College of Engineering and his collaborators at the University of Illinois and at Northwestern University has developed a new mechanical design for stretchable electronics that can be wrapped around complex shapes, without a reduction in elec-tronic performance. This new design has the potential to be used in electronic devices for eye cameras, smart surgical gloves, body parts, airplane wings, backplanes for liquid crystal displays, and biomedi-cal devices.
