The M2 and Nashoba families of voltage regulator (VR) controllers suit Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) processor and memory solutions. The M2 family supports Magny-Cours CPUs, as well as memory in systems built around AMD's G34 and C32 sockets. It offers from 4 to 8 phase solutions. The Nashoba family targets AM3 desktops including the 890GX chipset.rnThe M2 and Nashoba VR controllers typically save 40 discrete components. In idle state, a proprietary dis-continuous-mode operation requires no sensing circuitry and can be config-ured digitally to minimize losses inrnidle and sleep states.
