Industrial and automation electronics applications offer a wealth of opportunities for innovation. We present here a few interesting products that may invigorate those brain cells.rnThe MathWorks has announced a new tool that brings model-based design (MBD) to engineers designing manufacturing and power generation equipment run by programmable logic controllers (PLCs). The Simulink PLC Coder's features include automatic code generation for complex mechatronic industrial systems and generates IEC 61131 structured text for PLCs and PACs devices. The MathWorks is working closely with Rockwell Automation to help customers integrate MBD with their industrial equipment development efforts.
