Encrypting valuable information becomes the foundation for continued growth in private and public networks, including electronic commerce over the Internet Never have so many depended on so few for so much. Expectations that hundreds of millions of end-users and corporations will rely on the Internet as the primary medium of information exchange and electronic commerce depend on the adoption of data security. Indeed, much of everyday life is becoming dependent on secure networks of electronic devices, from modems for cellular telephones to electronic funds transfer, to on-line video games.
