The coming years will see rising Artemis production for FREMM application by the French Navy, although the ongoing worldwide economic downturn has put a strain on long-term prospects for big naval programs 2. In May 2012, prime contractor Thales announced that the Artemis-installed FREMM frigate Aquitaine would be put into water that month in preparation for further testing.
