Significance of Location in Transformer Installation

Location of transformer installation plays major role in designing the transformer. The factors that decide the design of transformer are as under. Transportability: The location of transformer can have restriction on the size and the mass of the transformer. Transformers for hydroelectric projects which are located in hilly areas have limitation on the height and weight of the consignment. These restrictions have to be specified by the customer. Location of the site also helps in deciding the mode of transportation which can be by road or rail or sea or their combination.
