Necessity of Residual Current protection Devices

Electricity is usually taken for granted, but any imprudence could be fatal. Damaged insulation and faulty wiring can cause a leakage current to flow to earth. This is known as earth leakage or more commonly as shock. Whenever there is a leakage in any electrical installation, there is a very high possibility of shock when this leakage current passes through a human body. The other effects of leakage currents are, electrical fires and wastage of electric energy.
