Although PVC based cable compound has superior physical, mechanical, environmentalrnproperties and flexibility, however in event of fire it has been proved to be detrimental. To overcome the above limitation, proper design of the compound is essential in view of complete understanding of burning process and mechanism of fire retardance. In addition to the above adequate testing facility should also be available for in-house testing and monitoring the quality of the cable.
