Measurement of electric power and energy at high voltages, high currents, and at very low power factors is becoming extremely important as a way to reduce the costs in an ever growing industrial economy. Power requirements are increasing and there is a huge shortage of power. More power plants are coming up, however, this deficit could be narrowed down by designing low loss, high efficiency power and distribution transformers.
