Swiss utility EKZ has ordered 43,000 smart meters from Landis+Gyr

Swiss utility EKZ has ordered 43,000 smart meters from Landis+Gyr. A further 14,000 smart load switches and 60 data concentrators (DC) have also been ordered. The meters will be installed in phases in 6000 new buildings each year; older meters will be replaced. The announcement comes as EKZ decided on a full rollout over 20 years. They call it a 'smart rollout' because it will start slowly, with smart meters being installed in new buildings and also replacing meters that have reached the end of their verification period. Once the meter population around a transformer station is dense enough, EKZ will install DCs and start reading the meters. Smart switches will similarly be used instead of conventional receivers for new buildings or wherever old switches need to be replaced.
