Several integrated high-side Cur-rent-sense amplifiers, such as the MAX4172(Maxim In- tegrated Products, maxim-ic.com), make it easy to measure the current from a positive power supply. With a couple of resistors, these devices provide a ground-referenced voltage output that is pro-portional to the delivered current (Fig-ure la).
