At the Embedded Processor Forum in San Jose this month, National Semiconductor unveiled Geode technology aimed at next-generation information appliances. The Geode-Link architecture features high performance, low power consumption, and streaming-multimedia enhancements. Active hardware power management reduces power levels by adjusting the clock rate, and a unified-memory architecture enables microprocessors to achieve as much as 2 Gbytes/sec of memory bandwidth.
