The June 2007 rendition of DAC (Design Automation Conference) in San Diego again revealed an uncertain direction for the chip-design community. Moreover, organizers appear to be looking for some way to stop the trend of a shrinking exhibition and attendee list. This year, the organizers in part tried to promote an automotive theme, although the effort has come off flat at best. For sure, the conference continues to offer valuable education to chip designers.
