The summer of 2020 will be remembered for many things, including the severe weather that struck parts of the country in July and August. As we wrap up this issue of EP, we are watching the Atlantic, the Pacific, and the Gulf of Mexico for signs of new tropical development, as well as an already-destructive wildfire season across the West. We also are focused on after-action reports following incredible restoration efforts in the Northeast and the Midwest after Tropical Storm Isaias and a devastating and historic derecho. These events-along with Hurricanes Hanna and Douglas in July-unfolded against the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic, which continues to impact every aspect of our lives.
