This is an extraordinary time to work in the electric power industry. If we step back to view our industry as a whole, we see transformational change building upon, and intertwined with, our historic values. Our industry is a foundational part of the American economy. It contributes 5 percent of America's total GDP. I like to think of this as the first 5 percent, because virtually every other sector of the economy depends on the safe, reliable, affordable, and clean energy delivered by the men and women who work for America's electric companies.
