Telematics: Providing new paths for transmission reliability

We live in an age of electricity, but :he ability of the transmission/ distribution grid to deliver electricity from source to destination is hampered by the lack of adequate infrastructure. As attention focuses more closely on the need to upgrade the nation's electrical delivery system―a need made more visible and urgent by the great blackout in August―many do not realize that new technologies are in hand which allow us to enhance the system's performance in the short run.
