Application kit enables one-day development time for 12V BLDC motor control

Electric motor drives are being used increasingly for water, oil and petrol pumps, fans and air conditioning systems in automotive applications. Here, in conjunction with powerful control algorithms running on optimized microcontrollers, BLDC motors offer very efficient solutions. For brushless motors, various control schemes, including field oriented control (FOC), are available. To date, however, the implementation of a modern, efficient motor control was often extremely time-consuming. In a new application kit, Infineon cuts complete motor control development to just one day instead of the average several weeks of development time.
