Gear and spline details contain a highly specialized geometry that is designed to gain a mechanical advantage through the specific transfer rotary torque motion. A gear's unique geometry transforms energy into a usable form, and they are so versatile that they can be found in use in almost every industry. Applications in the automotive, heavy industries, aerospace, medical, Die/ Mold, consumer products, watches and micro-machining (See Fig #1), to name just a few, are highly reliant on the use and production of gears.
