Maseru, capital of the tiny mountain kingdom of Lesotho, is hardly a nightlife hotspot. But it reached a new depth of deadness two weeks ago when a curfew forced people stay home at night. This was the government's response to attacks on the homes of several ministers and of the main opposition leader. The curfew has now been lifted, but the army announced it had foiled a coup attempt. Roadblocks are still frequent.
