More wealth, shorter hours? Evidence from the Netherlands

This study examines the effect of wealth shocks on working hours. To address the endogeneity of wealth, I use information on inheritances, regional house price developments and expectations about saving behavior. The results indicate that the effect of wealth on working hours is limited for men but significant for women.
