Sea of Japan Surface Circulation(from Satellite and Drifter Data)

摘要

The paper presents a detailed study of the system of currents and quasi-stationary eddies of the Sea of Japan, based on IR satellite data of high spatial resolution for 1993-1994, the trajectories of drifters for 1992-1995 and data from ADCP and CTD sensing. Values of the current velocities and the main spatio-temporal and kinematic characteristics of eddies are given. The seasonal variability of the main elements of the circulation is described. A chart of the surface circulation of the sea is presented.
