GESTIÓN INTEGRAL DE FLOTAS EN MODO ASP POR MEDIO DE PLATAFORMAS DE SERVICIO WEB: MOVILOC®

Este artículo describirá el estado del arte existente actualmente en la provisión de servicios para la localiza-ción, seguimiento y gestión de flotas de vehículos, vía WEB y en modo ASP (Active Server Pages). Estos servicios están dirigidos a empresas que, para el desarrollo de su actividad, emplean flotas de vehículos y recursos móviles en general. El objetivo es proveer a dichas empresas información sobre su flota que permita una mejora de su efectividad operacional, generación de ventajas competitivas, atención al cliente y seguridad. La comunicación presentara la arquitectura de este tipo de sistemas, sus funcionalidades y las ventajas que aportan para el cliente, haciendo especial hincapié en las relacionadas con el esquema de comercialización en modo servicio, frente al enfoque tradicional basado en la adquisición de sistemas.%This paper will describe the existing state of the art in vehicles location and fleet management services through WEB and ASP. These services are aimed at companies using vehicles fleets and (in genera) mobile resources to run their business. The objective is to provide such compa- nies with high-value information about their vehicles in order to: improve their operational efficiency, generate competitive advantages and get better security and service for the final customer. An architecture of this kind of systems will be described, as well as their functionalities and advantages for the customers, specially those related to the marketing of the service-mode opposite to the traditional client-server local systems.
