The BCI (Baltic Capesize Index) wasrnat 924 at the beginning of April but endedrnthe month on a good note at 2,251. Robustrniron ore trade lifted demand for Capesizes,rnresulting in a rise in trip rates across allrnmajor routes. Transpacific round-voyage triprnrates reached $16,800pd while China-Brazilrnround-voyage rates reached $17,000 pd.rnIt was the highest level attained on thesernroutes in 2018 so far.
