Drewry expects MPV charter rates to strengthen further in February due to container shortages which brought breakbulk demand back to the MPV sector. Meanwhile, the Chinese New Year holidays are expected to be subdued this year with no significant trade impact, but we believe the juggernaut of MPV charter rates since July 2020 will start to lose steam.
