ICTSI Matadi terminal to open in August

Philippines-based International Container Terminal Services, Inc (ICTSI) has confirmed to IHS DPC that its USD100 million multipurpose terminal at the port of Matadi in Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) is on schedule to open next month, reports Tony Slinn. Matadi, the capital of Bas-Congo province, is on the Congo, the world's deepest river, which has depths in excess of 220 m. It is 148 km from the river's estuary on the South Atlantic and is DRC's chief seaport. The port serves an extensive hinterland, including the capital city, Kinshasa, the largest city in central Africa.
