Allseas wins Nord Stream 2 pipelay deal

A politically controversial subsea gas pipeline project owned by Russian oil giant Gazprom, the overall Nord Stream 2 project is worth about EUR8 billion (USD8.6 billion). Other tenders, including the near-shore pipelay tenders in Russia and Germany, are ongoing and Dutch dredging majors Van Oord and Boskalis have both confirmed their interest in helping to building the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, which will cross the Baltic Sea from Russia to Germany. It will be parallel to the Nord Stream 1 pipeline, which was completed in 2012. Both Allseas and Boskalis were involved in that project as well.
