Belgian dredging giant DEME has been contracted to reclaim land for 10 islands for the Dream Islands resort in the Maldives. This work, along with two other contracts in India, meanearly 2017 saw it receive orders worth a total of EUR100 million (USD107 million). Speaking exclusively to DPC, DEME's business development head for India, Sir Lanka, and the Maldives, Bart Rumes, said, "The client is the Dream Islands company, a subsidiary of Thailand-based investment and real estate developer Singha Estate, and we're working in the Emboodhoo Lagoon, located in the South Male Atoll.
