From the outside the building is almost a concrete cube, more than ten metres high. But inside, the wooden ceiling descends very low over the long and spacious empty room. At first everything is wrapped in silence, but then it starts: a rustle with no apparent source, a soft tread that echoes from somewhere, above, over there on the right. The faint sound moves and gets louder, until it sounds like hammering, and continues along the opposite wall of the room. It comes closer, crossing the ceiling diagonally as the rhythm intensifies at a dizzy pace; a pneumatic hammer approaching and a collapsed building unseen in the din of a rising city.%Dall'esterno l'edificio è quasi un cubo di cemento, alto più di dieci metri, ma una volta dentro il soffitto di legno incombe bassissimo sullo stanzone ampio e lungo, vuoto. È tutto in silenzio, in principio, ma poi inizia. Inizia un fruscio senza origine apparente, un calpestare sordo che rimbomba da qualche parte, dall'alto, in fondo a destra. Si sposta, crescendo di intensità sino a farsi martellamento mentre prosegue lungo la parete opposta della sala. Si avvicina.
