On the outskirts of Modica, in a built-up area with important public services (such as law courts and a hospital) but without spatial hierarchies, stands a deliberately compact building which seems to rise from the ground to rearrange its context while interpreting the place.rnThe building houses a multipurpose civic centre, ready to welcome those needing or wishing to be together in a high gallery, which is articulated in a sequence of elegant and comfortable solids and voids. It is pleasantly varied and flooded with light, with a poetic quality that modulates and differentiates the spaces.
