Nedko Solakov's work falls at the crossroads of numerous languages influencing contemporary art today. The materials he uses for his works range from the highly traditional to those currently popular on the international scene, from paint and terracotta to videos, installations, texts, films and more. However, what shapes his work is principally a healthy injection of humour that allows it to be classified as migratory within the contemporary art scene. Solakov adopts different languages to declare his position in the art world, based on his condition as a Bulgarian artist who travels the world from a peripheral starting point.
