This anthological book on the work of Paolo Deganello has been published in Portugal and edited by Maria Milano. Consequently I shall use my poor knowledge of Portuguese as an excuse to avoid being distracted by the book's critical texts and to wallow instead in its illustrations. And in doing so retread the course of 46 years' work by Paolo Deganello. The title contains three "weighty" words: design, radical and reasons. Exactly ten years ago, in one of my "conversations about design" with Paolo, I attempted to reconstruct routes, processes and causes, by rummaging through and provoking his complex, prickly dialectic.
