L'edificio costruito nella zona della stazione ferroviaria di Pforzheim, nel Baden-Wurttemberg, tra Karlsruhe e Stoccarda, al limite settentrionale della Foresta Nera, del tronco ha il nome e il forte radicamento che - in corrispondenza della Schulberg - si esprime attraverso un massiccio zoccolo in pietra rossa che suggerisce un senso di solidità. Inoltre, del robusto fusto di un albero, Il Tronco ha la caratteristica di sorgere isolato, alla sommità di un rilievo, presso un importante snodo urbano, e possiede una forma curvilinea modellata plasticamente senza rispettare la perpendicolarità delle facciate, precisamente come potrebbe accadere nel caso della struttura portante di una pianta.%Il Tronco ("the trunk") is the name of an office building close to the train station of Pforzheim, Germany, located in the federal state of Baden-Wurttemberg. The city lies halfway between the cities of Karlsruhe and Stuttgart, on the northern edge of the Black Forest. On the downward-sloping street called Schulberg, a massive base of red stone gives a sense of solidity and arboreal rootedness. Like the robust trunk of a tree, the building rises in an isolated position at the top of a hill, close to an important urban intersection. Its irregularly curved shape is moulded plastically without consideration for the perpendicularity of the facades, exactly like the structure of a plant sometimes is.
